Founders and Contributors (2017-2019)
The story of AIPaD is a tale of vision, community, and transformation, beginning with the modest yet ambitious initiative, IPaD: Iranian People at DTU. It all started with Shahrzad, Mozhdeh, and Armin, three pioneering Iranian academics at DTU, who recognized a gap in the existing support networks for Iranian students and staff.
Driven by a shared dream to ease the integration of Iranian students and staff into the Danish society, they set the foundation for IPaD on November 5, 2017, as a social group on Telegram. This digital gathering quickly became a vibrant platform for mutual support and exchange of ideas. Throughout 2018, the seeds sown by the founders began to flourish as more passionate volunteers joined the cause, each bringing unique skills and perspectives. This growing community of core contributors fueled IPaD’s evolution from a simple chat group into a dynamic force for networking, collaboration, and empowerment. What started as a social media initiative rapidly expanded into a thriving community, acting as a bridge between cultures and fostering an environment where Iranian students and staff felt a sense of belonging.

The culmination of this evolution came in 2019, when the burgeoning group made the strategic decision to formalize their efforts by registering as a voluntary public association, or Folkeoplysning, in Denmark. Through an official general assembly, the following people were selected and joined together to ensure that the registration and negotiations with official authorities would proceed smoothly. Shortly after, September 26, 2019, marked the official birth of AIPaD. The new name, the Association of Iranian People at DTU, symbolized not just growth in numbers but also a deepened commitment to the cause.
Through the tireless efforts of its volunteers and the unwavering dedication of the above-mentioned core contributors, AIPaD has transformed into a cornerstone for the Iranian community at DTU. It stands as a testament to the power of collective effort and shared vision, continuing to support integration, inspire collaboration, and foster an inclusive atmosphere for all its members.
