Chaharshanbe Suri Festival

The Chaharshanbe Suri festival, also known as the fire festival, is an ancient Iranian tradition. Chaharshanbe Suri is held on the eve of the last Wednesday ahead of the Persian new year. The exact time differs from year to year. For this year, AIPaD arranged and held the Chaharshanbe Suri on the 15th of March in Skovlegeplads, Skodsborg. We were around 50 participants that gathered together and started the festival at 17.30. The festival is commonly based on lighting bonfires and jumping over them. We celebrated the festival by eating Ash Reshte, drinking, dancing, and also jumping over bonfires until 9 p.m.
